Torrevieja is to have a permanent rescue boat and maritime safety vessel docked in the port, after a successful summer basing of a maritime rescue boat, the SAR Mesana. The Salvamar Caliope (pictured) has already been moved to Torrevieja, ahead of a likely deal being signed between the Merchant Navy and the Cruz Roja.
