Access for disabled people around Torrevieja city came under the spotlight once again on Saturday in the annual “Walk Through The Jungle” organised by the local APANEE charity – the association of parents with special needs children.
Wheelchairs and buggies were used in the hour-long walk from the town hall to highlight some of the problems in the area where there are no easy slopes that can be used to get onto or leave pavements. The walkers also pointed out numerous examples of selfish parking by motorists that restricted access to wheelchair users.
