The sad discovery was made by a passer-by who alerted the police, who then contacted the municipal cleaning teams to remove the dead creature and clean the beach.

The marine wildlife along the entire area is under increasing threat, not only from overfishing and pollution, but also from the increase in the number of vessels using the east coast of Spain. The cause of death in this case is unknown.
