A gang of around a dozen hooded young men and women brutally beat up a 19-year-old woman outside a Murcia City bar in the early hours of Sunday morning, with racism being investigated as a possible motivation for the attack.
The National Police arrested two people, aged 19 and 22, involved in the assault with a video of the attack posted on Twitter. The footage showed that they appeared to wait for their victim to leave a bar in the Plaza de Santa Eulalia in the city, before kicking and punching her repeatedly as she lay defenceless on the ground.
The woman suffered abdominal and facial injuries and a broken tooth, with police experts continuing to analyse the video, shot by a passer-by, to identify more of the young perpetrators.
