Over Three Million Euro of Damage Caused by December Storms in Orihuela Area
December’s storms caused three point four million euro of damage to Orihuela City and the surrounding villages according to Orihuela council. Infrastructure councillor Juan Ignacio López-Bas and Emergencies councillor Víctor Valverde have presented a report outlining the devastation caused to local roads, buildings, and facilities, which has been produced by council officials.
The document is being sent to the Valencian Government with a call for them to subsidise the bill for any necessary repairs, along with a request to the Interior Ministry in Madrid. The councillors added that the three point four million euro figure did not take into account damage done to local farms or private housing.
