Up to three hundred people took part in a demonstration at the Playa Flamenca promenade last weekend, against plans to build 1,500 houses at Cala Mosca on the Orihuela Costa.
Sunday’s protest was organised by local neighbourhood and political groups, and came on the back of last week’s news (as previously reported by The Courier) that the European Parliament has asked the Valencian Government to makes sure that appropriate procedures are followed if the development does go ahead.
Placards and balloons with slogans written in English and Spanish called for the project to be scrapped to preserve the flora and fauna of Cala Mosca.
