An 86-year-old British man accused of stabbing his wife to death last month at an El Campello retirement home, has died of natural causes. Ronald Stenning (pictured in February) passed away in Alicante General Hospital on Wednesday after he was admitted there the previous day.
Up to that time, he had been in the psychiatric wing of the medical facility at Fontcalent Prison and kept on a “suicide watch”, after initially being taken to the San Juan Hospital in Alicante City and given emergency surgery after the incident on Sunday February 19th.
Stenning denied the murder charge, and said that his wife had taken her own life as a prearranged suicide. Prosecutors have now filed the case.
