Officers from the Local Police in Alicante have launched a hunt for the driver of a moped involved in a hit and run incident in the city.
Listen to this articleThe incident occurred on Avenida Alfonso X el Sabio near to Calle Navas where the 51-year-old male pedestrian was knocked down whilst crossing the road at around 13:25 on Friday afternoon.
As a result of the incident, the man suffered serious injuries and was taken by a paramedic unit to Alicante hospital.
The moped fled the scene and so the officers are now scouring the extensive network of CCTV cameras in the city to locate the rider.
