Baby Killed in Alicante Balcony Fall

The National Police are investigating the death of a child of about two years of age who died after falling from the fourth floor of a house in the city of Alicante.

The tragic event occurred just after 13:00 hours on Saturday when, for unknown reasons, the child fell from the balcony on the fourth floor of a house located on avenida Maestro Alonso in the north of the city.

The police and medics attended the scene and transferred the child to the General Hospital of Alicante, located nearby. The baby was alive on arrival at the hospital, having had the fall cushioned somewhat by a parked car.

Sadly, the baby later died due to the seriousness of the injuries sustained in the fall.

The Judicial Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and taking statement s from possible witnesses as well as information relating to the scene.
