The group, who lived together in the same house in Torrevieja, targeted stores in Elche, Orihuela Costa, Sant Vicent del Raspeig and Alicante, and stole items such as cell phone chargers, hard drives, external batteries and even food.

After committing a robbery, the trio would separate so as to evade capture, although they hadn´t anticipated being caught separately. This was the case with the first detainee, a 48-year-old man, who was arrested while driving the vehicle used to commit a crime. Inside the car, officers located objects identified as stolen from up to seven different stores, and several tools to circumvent the alarms. Once he was brought to court however, he was released with charges pending.

The officers continued with the search of the other two, who in the two days after the arrest of their partner, are believed to have continued their campaign, committing thefts in nine more establishments.

The officers soon caught up with them and arrested these last two, aged 25 and 61, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of belonging to a criminal group.

After being taken to court, they too have been released with charges pending.
