The Local Police in Santander have arrested a 17-year-old girl who was driving a car that ran over two children in a car park at playa del Camello.
The young woman was driving a Ford Focus, accompanied by a male of legal age, who was responsible for the car, although he was not the lawful owner.
According to reports from the scene, the driver lost control of the car and left the road, hitting a bench where the two girls were sitting, totally destroying the bench, and then crashing into railings that separated the parking lot from the beach.
The two girls, ages 8 and 9, were lucky to suffer only minor injuries and were discharged from hospital shortly after being treated.
