Another Most Wanted British Fugitive Caught in Spain
Officers from the Guardia Civil have caught one of the Europe´s most wanted fugitives, David Hayes, wanted on an international arrest warrant to answer charges relating to child sexual exploitation.
Hayes, a former Bangor City press officer, is accused of the systematic sexual abuse of two children at their family home, he has been charged with a total of 9 serious sexual offences.
He failed to appear at Mold Crown Court in December, 2016.
North Wales Police Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Williams, said in January, 2017, “We believe that Mr Hayes may well have travelled onto the continent after he absconded from court last year and much work continues in efforts to trace his current whereabouts.
We are working with colleagues in the National Crime Agency along with other law enforcement bodies, home and abroad, to locate him and facilitate his arrest.
It is vital that we trace Mr Hayes and anyone with information as regards his location is requested to contact North Wales.”
