In the valleys of the Tagus, Guadiana and Guadalquivir will be exceeded 42ºC and even locally 44ºC.

It is important to remember that high temperatures facilitate the spread of forest fires, so it is recommended to exercise extreme caution.

In the face of high temperatures, it is important to follow the advice of the Ministry of Health.

  • Limit sun exposure.
  • Keep in a well-ventilated place.
  • Eat light and regular meals, rich in water and mineral salts, such as fruits and vegetables.
  • Drink frequently water or liquids.
  • Dress in light coloured clothing, covering as much skin surface as possible and the head.
  • Avoid prolonged physical exercises in the central hours of the day.
  • Be more aware of the elderly and sick, and those who live alone or isolated.

To prevent forest fires:

  • Keep in mind that high temperatures favour the risk of forest fires. Extreme precautions are needed.
  • Pay special attention to the regulations of the Autonomous Community on fire prevention and authorised periods to burn stubble.
  • Avoid throwing cigarettes, garbage and glass bottles that may magnifying the effect of the sun. Negligence causes most forest fires.
  • It is forbidden to light fires in the woods and nearby lands.
  • Camp only in authorised areas, as these have protective measures against a possible fire and evacuation is easier.
  • If you discover the fire, notify 112 immediately.
  • If you are surprised by a fire, avoid entering the forest or woods. Always go through areas of high visibility and free of fuel.
  • In case of emergency due to forest fire, always follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
