Body Found in Sea Tied to Sand-Filled Drums
The body of a man, said to be 50-year-old, has been found 10 metres deep in the sea, tied to drums which had been filled with sand.
The gruesome discovery was made on Wednesday off the coast of the beach at Cagailla de Salobreña, between Motril and Salobreña, when a diver found the body and reported to the Guardia Civil that it appeared to have been trapped by drums.
A nautical patrol attended the scene and made preparations for divers to investigate further, where they found the body tied to the drums to prevent it from floating to the surface.
Bathers were removed from the beach and an investigation has now been launched to ascertain the circumstances of the incident.
