The councillor for beaches, Javier Manzanares, witnessed the event and spoke of his pride in the way the emergency services worked together, saying, “We have organised a drill, which we usually do every year, to account for the reaction time of both the rescuers and the arrival of the ambulance, the local police and the transfer to the hospital, which once again has been certified so we can be sure our beaches are safe”.

In the simulation, a victim located almost 150 metres from the shore and having suffered a heart attack in the water, showed signs of suffering the effects of drowning. The rescuers followed a series of steps to save his life, from first response to hospital transfer, ensuring that established protocols were met at every stage.
