APP SHOWS RUBBISH SITES

APP SHOWS RUBBISH SITES

The Provincial Council in Málaga is using augmented reality application Layar in order to show residents and visitors where to dispose of solid waste products.

The “OBJETIVO CERO” campaign is a project funded by the Ministry of Land Policy by the European Regional Development Fund, which aims to improve waste collection in the areas of Antequera, Guadalteba, Guadalhorce, Nororma, Sierra de las Nieves and Serranía de Ronda.

Users can launch the app which then shows them the location of the nearest solid waste disposal site, which is also linked to a map, as well as the ability to highlight problems with geolocation and photographic information in the event of an incident.

Layar is a FREE augmented reality app for mobile phones with a wide selection of layers available to enable users to search for points of interest in real time through their mobile phone cameras and screen.
