CHLOE LEIGH IS FLAG DAY STAR

Chloe Leigh

On Saturday 9th of May Chloe Leigh the local girl who is fast becoming an international vocal artist, will headline the Torrevieja European Flag day Celebrations in the main square by the cathedral and the Town Hall in Torrevieja.

Chloe will sing her latest release, the Theme song from the soon to be released Film, shot here on the Costablanca “The Cucaracha Club” and a selection of her vast repertoire. Chloe will be representing Siesta Productions on stage.

The recently formed Film Company are determined to place Torrevieja on the map as a location for both Film and TV. The “Cucaracha Club” has already been invited to Toronto later this year to appear in the OWTFF, festival and will attend in at least two category’s, one being the music.

Yvonne Haughton (Actress) who will join Chloe on stage will explain in Spanish, English and German to the watching crowds just what the film is about and why its being made.

A full music score has been written and recorded for the Film and this is very unusual for a low budget production.

The Video of Chloe Leigh singing the Theme tune has been made and can be seen on YouTube by searching for “Cucaracha Club Video” It is very much the desire of the production team to encourage Chloe Leigh to try for the Eurovision Song Contest next year, so watch this space. Siesta Productions are keen to thank the Town Hall and the staff of the Mayor and in particular the Tourist Information office for all the help and encouragement given in the making of the motion picture.

But the story is not ending there! Oh No CC2 is already in the planning and it is hoped that it will be even bigger and more exciting than the current production.

SPAIN TRIPLES MEDITERRANEAN SEARCH AND RESCUE SPENDING

Would be immigrants arriving in Italy

Prime Minister Rajoy, highlighted the importance of the extraordinary meeting of the European Council on immigration last week, at which it “was agreed to triple spending on search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean”.

He explained that the Commission will publish a document in May to be debated in June, “to thus implement what logic and common sense dictates – a joint immigration policy for all European countries, given that there is free movement of people in Europe, and hence, what affects one country, wherever it may be, affects us all”.

As regards the fundamental objectives of this immigration policy, Rajoy pointed out that “the most important thing must be to preserve the lives of people”; given the dramatic situation taking place in the Mediterranean. “This is something that the European Union cannot and will not allow under any circumstance”, he explained.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister underlined the need to be “effective against the mafias that take advantage of people and which, on many occasions, lead them to their deaths”, and committed to improve living standards and cooperation with countries of origin. “It is clear that if people do not have the possibility of leading a dignified life in their own country, they will do whatever is available to them in achieving this, as is obvious and natural”, he claimed.

In his opinion, “the most important measures are to reach readmission agreements with all the countries of origin and transit of immigration”, which would be an “important step”, because “to date, as a country Spain has some agreements in place, but not at a European Union level”. He also committed to linking this readmission “to cooperation with these countries”.

Mariano Rajoy added that endeavours will be made to “reach agreements to work jointly with the law enforcement agencies of these countries, with a view to avoiding these situations arising in the future”.
