Police officers in Benidorm have arrested five people for drug trafficking and the illegal possession of weapons, one of whom is a bar owner in the town. They also seized 433 Ecstasy tablets, 64 sheets of cocaine, hashish, marijuana, a shotgun, a pistol, ammunition and 158,946 euro in cash. The arrests were made during a routine inspection and crackdown on drugs in the entertainment venues in the town, and were found during the check on a premises on calle Lepanto.
Officers from the National Police in Cadíz have arrested two people of Dutch nationality, a father and his daughter, who were wanted on an international arrest warrant for the “immediate protection of a child with an imminent danger to life”. Dutch authorities said that they had “objective reasons to believe that” the man intended to kill his daughter, and then commit suicide. Arrangements were being made for the child to be flown home.
An autopsy carried out on an 11 year old girl and a 9 year old boy, who were killed in their home in Barcelona at the weekend, revealed that the pair were intoxicated with drugs and then drowned in the bathtub. A 35 year old woman, identified by the name Rina MS, the mother of the two children, has been arrested on suspicion of their murder. Investigators say that the two children were found by the side of the bathtub, which was full of water, and they had wet hair, with “foam” coming from their nose and mouths. The woman was sent for psychological assessment on Monday, following the incident at the weekend. Neighbours had reported the couple arguing, on neighbour was asked by the man to call the police as the woman had killed their children.
A man and a woman were found dead on Tuesday afternoon in their home in Santiago de Compostela, apparently as a result of gunshot wounds, with indications at the scene pointing to an apparent joint suicide pact. It is believed that the couple ran their own business and had been suffering financial difficulties, which investigators believe to have been their motive for suicide, although a full investigation is being carried out.
The court in Alicante has this week sentenced a woman to seven years and seven months in prison, ordered her to pay him 5,000 euro in compensation and given a 500 metre exclusion order, after she was found guilty of stabbing the man, her partner, several times in the chest. There were conflicting reports of varying degrees of abuse presented by the woman in her defence, but the man, known as Carlos AC, was cleared of an alleged case of abuse, as there was no evidence of aggression and witnesses did not see any signs of an attack, but the fact that the woman, Susana MA, stabbed the man a number of times, the court concluded that she was aware of the “deadly consequences” of her actions.
Police officers in Vigo arrested a 33 year old man, identified with the initials SC and of a foreign nationality, on suspicion of assault after officers witnessed what they believed to be the man slapping a woman in the street. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers report that they noticed a mark on the woman´s face, although the woman could not speak Spanish, and so they arrested the man after he said there had been a discussion for family reasons.
