A man was seriously injured in Murcia on Tuesday, having apparently set himself on fire in protest.
Witnesses say that the man was carrying a placard stating that his children had been taken into care by the social services.
Emergency teams rushed to the scene on a pedestrianised area of Libertad de Murcia, transferring the man to the hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca de Murcia, where he is said to have arrived suffering 80% burns to his body.
