24/09/2013. The Spanish State deficit in national accounting terms at the close of the first eight months of the year stood at 47.58 billion euros, equal to 4.62% of GDP in spite of a 15.3% increase to the financial burden. This figure shows that no significant changes occurred from July to August and that the deficit remains on the same path of cost containment and in line with revenue trends. When discounting expenditure on servicing debt, the State posted a primary deficit of 28.71 billion euros – down 11% on last year.
