A young British woman died this week in Girona airport after she became dizzy and lost consciousness. The 21 year old, who was pregnant, was travelling to Birmingham with her family.
A spokesman for the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) said that an ambulance was called at 15.24 which arrived at the terminal at 15.38, a time considered "within the standard" in such emergencies although an official from the union UGT denounced the time as excessive saying that his members would have responded much quicker had the airport healthcare facility not been shut down a year ago
The body of the girl is currently at the Institute of Legal Medicine of Girona where an autopsy will be carried out to reveal the cause of death.
