10/10/2013. The Government of Spain is pleased that the Sakharov Prize was awarded this year to the young Pakistani woman, Malala Yousafzai. This award represents recognition for the work carried out in defence of the right to education for girls in Pakistan, as well as another firm rejection of the criminal violence committed by the terrorist groups that attempt to oppress and condition Pakistani women and girls, and hence the life of an entire country.
