The new legislation seeks to simplify and speed up judicial proceedings in uncontroversial matters to thus free up the judiciary from tasks that will be taken on by court clerks, notaries and registrars. The minimum age for marriage will be raised from 14 to 16. Notaries will be permitted to perform weddings and handle divorces.
