The Guardia Civil arrested a 38 year old man, identified with the initials JLFD and a resident of Lena in Asturias, after he was caught driving at 219 kilometres per hour on the A66 main road where the limit was 120.
According to the report from the officers, they had set up a speed control check point at a petrol station on the A66 at the Serín-Campomanes service centre, when they recorded the driver travelling in a BMW car, exceeding the speed limit, and was subsequently reported for the offence.
