Coming soon to Channel 5, two new documentary series focusing on three of Britain’s most notorious killers; Fred and Rose West and Harold Shipman.
Fred and Rose: The Untold Story
Despite intense media coverage there are many stories behind the killings that have never been told. Fred and Rose: The Untold Story will focus on the true story behind the West’s disturbing and gruesome murders. The series will follow their troubled childhoods, the life they lived together and the events that drove them to kill.
The three-part series investigates how the pair worked together as a husband and wife murdering team, their life at ‘The House of Horrors’ on Cromwell Street and how both were finally charged with murder.
The documentary also questions whether the murders could have been prevented, the prosecution case and speaks to the victims that managed to escape.
Contributors in the series include Caroline Roberts (nee Owens) – victim of Fred and Rose West who managed to get away and testified against them in court.
Harold Shipman: 10 Years On
This two part documentary examines Harold Shipman, arguably one of Britain’s most notorious and prolific serial killers. Working as a GP, he killed more than 215 people over a 24 year period.
The series will explore the victim’s deaths, how Shipman hid behind a kind and caring persona and how he dodged being caught countless times.
The series examines how the doctor killed early on his career as a trainee doctor, his drug habit and how a funeral home raised the alarm to the police.
