With events such as the Royal baby, the horsemeat scandal and Miley Cyrus twerking it out with a foam finger, we have been spoilt for choice in things to discuss, dismiss and delight in online. Hosted by sardonic comic Jack Dee, Twit Of The Year will take an entertaining look back at 2013 to reveal the biggest social media gaffes and triumphs that got the nation talking and reminisce on how they were viewed, shared and retold online.
From celebrity misdemeanours and meltdowns to the unlikely events that set timelines alight, the show will take a raucous journey through the most shocking, memorable and talked-about moments of the past twelve months building to the naming of 2013’s Twit Of The Year.
We’ll hear from a host of opinionated comedians, prolific celebrity and non-celebrity tweeters as they question what can be learnt from the most funny, cringe-worthy and downright stupid comments made in 140 characters.
With so many contenders to choose from, who will be crowned Twit of The Year 2013?
The 90 minute show was commissioned by Jilly Pearce and Bec Milligan at Channel 4. It will be executive produced by Claudia Lewis and series produced by Kate Edmunds at Boundless.
