The autonomous regions as a whole have benefited from the allocation of the Structural Funds after Spain managed to achieve an increase, during its negotiations with the EU, in the corresponding allocation under the new schedule for 2014-2020 by 1.1% in current terms compared with the previous period (2007-2013), despite the fact that the Cohesion Policy, in global European terms, has fallen by 12%.
The regional governments will manage 47.1% of the European Funds allocated to Spain, 8.4% more than at present
