DAVID COSTA CRITICISES COUNCILLORS SALARY INCREASE
Councillor David Costa (PP) accused the government team last week of increasing their salaries on “a discretionary basis, without any criteria” at an additional cost to the city budget of 34,500 euros.
He says there is no logic or reason to it and in these austere times there is no justification whatsoever in the action as the salaries they are already receiving are more than adequate.
He also criticised the need of the council to hire an additional employee at a cost of 6,800 euros purely to assist with tourism and to operate the Council’s Social Network site and wondered why the Municipal Communications Budget of 91,000 was not enough.
