A helicopter operated by the Catalan police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, made an emergency landing today after an engine fire.
Luckily, none of the officers on board were injured, other than the obvious shock, and the helicopter remained intact whilst the pilot carried out the emergency landing just after takeoff at around 11:00.
An investigation is now underway to ascertain what happened to EC-KYJ, an Aerospatiale AS 355N,m which is reported to have been involved in a previous emergency whilst filming the cycle race of Spain in Asturias.
