The Supreme Court has overturned a belief in the constitution that nudity in public is a human right, backing a decision by the government of Castell-Platja D’Aro on the Costa Brava which banned nudism, enforcing a prohibition with fines for those who strip off. The case dates back to 2009 when the council wanted to ban nudism on account of the beaches being frequented by families, but the move was challenged by naturist groups who said that nudism was a constitutional right, but the Supreme Court has now rejected that argument.
