Madrid city council has designated 1.2 million euro to go towards a collaboration agreement with a homeless support group, with the intention of providing both healthcare and other facilities for homeless people in the city, which the council consider to be a priority on account of them being vulnerable members of society.
The agreement will provide nearly 400 places in shelters, 200 in soup kitchens, plus employment workshops and day centre places.
