The cookery based TV show Masterchef will take on a totally different feel in Spain this week, as members of the security and armed forces combine to compete in a special episode due to air next Monday.
Four officers from the Guardia Civil responded to a call for volunteers in September and will be in Madrid this week to film the show.
However, the show has not been without criticism as a union representing the officers has voiced a complaint that whilst there is no money to buy essential equipment such as bullet proof vests, the authorities have found the money to transport and accommodate the officers for the purpose of entertainment, not security.
