During the early hours of Friday morning, an articulated truck crashed into the toll booths on the motorway near to Los Montesinos.
A person remained trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by the emergency services, before being taken to the Vega Baja hospital in a serious condition.
An investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances which led to the crash.
