Officers from the National Police have arrested three British youths on suspicion of robbery as they were about to board a flight back to the UK from Alicante-Elche airport.

The officers were alerted by a witness who saw a variety of documents and items on a hotel room floor which appeared to be from various different people.

The findings suggested that the three youths had in their possession a number of items and wallets believed to have been stolen from other people in a well-known British area of Benidorm.

The investigators discovered that the three youths had a flight back to the UK booked and so decided to wait for their departure at the airport so that they could explain their findings.

The officers arrested the youths and questioned them, confirming that some of the items had been reported stolen, facts admitted to by the youths who had taken advantage of their holiday to commit the thefts.

Their legal guardians were then forced to pay for flights later that day whilst the case against them is still open.
