The “Save Lo Ferris” group in Torrevieja says that the area is not suitable to be home to the municipality’s first dog beach. Last week the council came up with a shortlist of six sites over which it wants to get the public’s views, before a final place is chosen.
The Lo Ferris campaigners have told the council that they do want a dog beach for Torrevieja, but that Cala Ferris is unsuitable because it can’t withstand the extra numbers of people and environmental pressures that a dog beach would bring to the site.
