The swamps of La Pedrera have a new visitor from northern Europe in the shape of the common crane. The crane heads to warmer climates during the winter from the breeding grounds of Scandinavia and Russia, and many choose to go the Extremadura region of Spain, though there have been sightings in the Hondon Vallley.
It’s the first time though, according to the Información newspaper, that the bird has been spotted at La Pedrera in the Orihuela area.
