There was a British winner in Sunday’s 34th staging of the Torrevieja Half Marathon, with Notts Athletic Club runner Stuart Spencer taking the men’s race in one hour, nine minutes, and 14 seconds. The Leicestershire accountant was rated as the UK’s 11th best marathon runner last year, and is now looking for a personal best at the full distance in next month’s London Marathon.

Livson Matleena was the women’s victor in a time of one hour, 26 minutes and 52 seconds, whilst 40 percent of the one thousand runners opted for the shorter 10-kilometre test, with Hazma Chetoui winning the men’s category, and Silje Lindstad being the fastest female.
