Remember, remember, the 4th of November, because that’s the date set for the 20 kilometre road race, “La Gran Carrera del Mediterraneo”.
It is the fourth time this particular race has taken place, with a route that starts in Alicante, then heads along the Elche coastline, before finishing in Santa Pola.
Registration opens on Wednesday, 31 October, and closes on the Friday of that week, before the race begins at 09:30 on Sunday, 4 November.
Throughout the whole weekend there are supplementary events in the area, in preparation for what is set to be one of the most gruelling road race along the Costa Blanca.
There will of course be some road disruption on the day, but as the race should finish a little after 12:30, with the awards presented at 13:00, this will be kept to a minimum. Still, it’s best to avoid the area on the day unless you want to get involved supporting the runners of this picturesque, though challenging race.
