A woman, said to be 56-years-old, died on Tuesday after the vehicle she was in was involved in a collision with a bus on the N-332 near Santa Pola.
The incident occurred at 15:46 at kilometre point 93.4 near to the Gran Alacant urbanisation in the Alicante direction towards El Altet.
Fire fighters initially managed to rescue the woman alive from the wreckage, but she is said to have lost her life during the transfer from the scene to Elche general hospital.
The N-332 remained closed for some time and vehicles were diverted as the incident was being dealt with by the emergency services.
