The Government has extended the current order that requires a ten-day quarantine for people who come from countries with higher risk from COVID-19, such as Brazil and South Africa, in some of which more aggressive variants of the coronavirus have been detected.

The Executive’s decision is contained in an order published this Friday by the Official State Gazette (BOE) and signed by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias.

This department indicates that the measure that is extended has had “positive effects” to prevent new infections and, above all, to prevent the transmission of more dangerous variants of Covid-19. In addition, cases of this type have been detected among travellers from high-risk countries that were subject to confinement.
