The Government will extend part of the social shield until mid-August. Specifically, the moratorium on evictions and rental contracts, the current extension of which ended on May 9, coinciding with the end of the state of alarm.
The extension was announced by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez , during his appearance this morning in Congress to give an account of both the state of alarm and the recovery plan linked to European funds.
The extension of this part of the social shield will therefore occur regardless of whether the current state of alarm is lifted or not, although the intention of the Executive is that the State of Alarm ends on May 9.
