On Thursday, Spain exceeded 10 million people with at least one inoculated dose of COVID-19 vaccine, which represents 21.4% of the population, as reflected in the latest vaccination report, which points out that almost 14 million doses have been administered and that more than 3,700,000 people already have the complete vaccination schedule.

Among the outstanding data is that in the age group over 80 years, that 99.4% of people have already received at least 1 dose and that 72.1% have both doses; in the 70-79 age group, 55.1% have at least one dose; and in those between 60 and 69 years of age, 40.9% have already received a dose.

The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has underlined that the vaccination process continues to advance, with more and more rhythm, since the number of vaccines that is arriving in Spain is increasing and has recalled that In this quarter alone, Spain will receive more than 40 million doses of vaccines to inoculate the public.

Darias has affirmed that this achievement is possible due to the great work that the Autonomous Communities and health professionals are doing. “I want to acknowledge that work that is allowing us, for the first time, to place vaccines ahead of the virus. There are already more people with a complete regimen, with two doses and, therefore, immunised, than the number of infections reported”.

“Today, a new milestone; a new milestone on this path towards herd immunisation. Today there are already more than 10 million people who have at least one dose. Vaccines are our horizon of hope; Vaccines are safe, they are effective and they save lives”, highlighted Darias.
