The mayor of Pamplona, Enrique Maya, announced on Monday that the Sanfermines 2021 fiesta will once again be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press conference, the councillor described the news as “very hard”, insisting that the 2022 party will be bigger and better than ever, triple in size.
“In 2022 we are going to experience three Sanfermines at the same time,” he said. In addition, this year Pamplona will carry out a wide cultural program between June and September, Maya pointed out: “There will not be Sanfermines, but Pamplona will be very much alive.”
