Twyp customers must withdraw their money from the application before this Monday, September 19, when ING will permanently close the platform.

In the second quarter, the bank announced the transfer of the main functionalities of its Twyp service to its own mobile application, as well as the closure of the platform. Twyp clients cannot operate from August 17, but they have had several weeks to withdraw their money, specifically until September 19.

To withdraw the balance in Twyp, customers must click on the balance of their app and enter the option ‘Move to my bank’. After having brought their balance to zero, they must close their account by clicking on ‘Profile’, ‘Help’ and ‘Delete account’.

For the time being, to continue enjoying features such as payments between friends or cash withdrawals in stores, users must have a ‘Payroll Account’ at ING.

The cashback service integrated into ING’s mobile banking for the bank’s customers will now be provided by Topii, heiress of Twyp, which is preparing a solution for those users who used to be Twyp, but not ING, and who want to continue counting on the possibility of paying, withdrawing money in stores and benefiting from discounts. In addition, the fintech plans to add new entities to which it can offer the service and expand its network of stores.

As Topii’s general director in Spain, Javier Celaya, explained in statements, Twyp customers will have to withdraw the money from the app, although the manager hopes that his own application will be ready “very soon” to continue with the service for users of other entities.

On the other hand, for customers who use Twyp to pay their children through Twyp Kids, ING has reached an agreement with Pixpay that will allow them to continue enjoying a service similar to that of Twyp, for which it has provided a promotional code with which they will receive 10 euro of balance if they register in Pixpay. The Pixpay app costs 2.99 euro per month.
