Rock out in Albacete

One of the most anticipated music events in the rock music calendar in Spain, Viña Rock 2023, returns to Albacete from tomorrow, Friday, for the 26th time, rocking the 60,000 fans expected to take over the town until Sunday.

Ska-P, La Pegatina, and Green Valley are amongst the headline acts which will take to the stage to entertain the viñarockeros.

Bernardo Ortega, Councillor for Culture, assures that the municipality is already prepared “for the arrival of 60,000 people from Thursday in Villarrobledo, who will enjoy Viña Rock 2023 and who will taste our wines, eat in our restaurants, or visit our monuments.”

In addition, this year the Viña Rock is celebrated after the award of the new contract, which has caused numerous controversies in local politics about the real economic impact that was used in the specifications.

Despite this, Ortega assures that this new contract, for the next fifteen years, “introduces improvements” and places this rock festival “on an international level”, “because in Villarrobledo, whoever governs, we have always wanted to improve the festival”.

Controversies aside, everything is ready. Preparations for the Security Operation were approved last week, and “where the key to success lies,” according to Ortega.

The celebration of the festival “causes us to triple our population and, although we are already used to it after twenty-six years, it is something very important.” In addition, “all the tickets have already been sold, it will be a success,” concludes the councillor.
