Spain is suffering a drought

The Spanish water reserve is at 48.9 percent of its total capacity. The reservoirs currently store 27,417 cubic hectometres (hm³) of water, which has decreased in the last week by 406 cubic hectometres (0.7 percent of the current total capacity of the reservoirs).

The reservation by areas is as follows:

  • Cantábrico Oriental se encuentra 80,8%
  • Cantábrico Occidental 82,2%
  • Miño-Sil 74,9%
  • Galicia Costa 84,5%
  • Cuencas internas del País Vasco 76,2%
  • Duero 67,2%
  • Tajo 60,0%
  • Guadiana 32,9%
  • Tinto, Odiel y Piedras 67,7%
  • Guadalete-Barbate 26,8%
  • Guadalquivir 24,4%
  • Cuenca Mediterránea Andaluza 35,2%
  • Segura 33,9%
  • Júcar 59,5%
  • Ebro 51,2%
  • Cuencas internas de Cataluña 25,6%

Rainfall has affected the Atlantic slope and has been scarce on the Mediterranean slope. The maximum has been produced in Vigo (A) with 44.6 mm (44.6 l/m²).
