The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) will carry out an emergency drill today, Tuesday, in the Media Fanega tunnels and in the tunnel under the N-433, both located on the A-66, in the province of Seville.

For this reason, between 09:00 and 14:00, the A-66 motorway will be closed to traffic on both carriageways. In the Mérida direction, the cuts will be between kilometres 776,750 and 782. In the left lane in the Seville direction, they will occur between kilometres 778,900 and 780,300 for the passage of emergency services.

As alternatives to the circulation in the Mérida direction, a detour marked by the N-630 will be enabled at the Venta del Alto/Aracena/Portugal link, returning to resume the motorway at kilometre 776,750 of it, where the affectation ends, detailed the Ministry in a press release.

The simulation allows to evaluate the coordination of all the human resources involved in a possible real case of evacuation of the users in the tunnel, as well as in the extinction of a fire. The N-630 road will be marked “conveniently” as an alternative route to traffic, the Government has added.
