In areas of Catalonia and the Basque Country, the digital version of the SIP card, the health service identification document, comes into force from today, Monday.
The digital Tarjeta Individual Sanitaria will not replace the current plastic cards at the moment, but can be used as a convenient alternative on your mobile phone.
Pharmacies are already equipped to scan the QR code that the digital card creates in order to access the pharmaceutical requirements of the individual.
In the interest of security, you will need some form of digital identity document, such as a digital signature, in order to access the service, and if you need any more help or advice you should either contact your registered clinic, or visit the website of the health authority in your areas.
