The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Valencia will begin to hear evidence from today, Friday, against a man who is facing a 29-year prison sentence for raping his stepdaughter, a minor, threatening and mistreating her, over a period of a number of years.
The victim’s mother began a sentimental relationship with the defendant when the girl was two years old. When she was five, the man legally adopted her and began to abuse her, with kisses and touching.
When she was eight years old, according to the prosecutor’s indictment, a sister of the victim was born and the defendant took advantage of the moments when the mother was with the baby to undress the girl and subject her to touching.
Between the ages of 10 and 12, the defendant began to physically assault her for not doing the housework well, which he demanded because her mother had become ill, to the point of breaking her eardrum with a blow to the head.
When the girl was 12 years old, he began to force himself sexually, despite the fact that the minor told him that it hurt her a lot and that she did not want to, and later, when the mother was hospitalised, the man forced her to watch pornographic films.
The Public Prosecutor maintains that during adolescence, the defendant subjected her to a situation of domination, controlled her communications and distanced her from her classmates and maternal family.
The Prosecutor’s Office considers him the author of the continuous crimes of sexual assault, exhibitionism, and also responsible for the discovery and disclosure of secrets, two crimes of injury and one of breach of precautionary measures.
