Russia still supplying over a quarter of Spain’s gas

During the month of July, the demand for natural gas reached 26,199 GWh in Spain, which is 15.9% less than in the same month of 2022.

The main suppliers during the month of July were Algeria (28.7% of total demand) followed by Russia, who still supplies 27.6% of the country’s gas, despite their actions in Ukraine.

In addition to the two top suppliers, the USA supplied 12.4%, and Nigeria 8.4%.

In the accumulated annual figure, consumption of gas also recorded a decline of 14% compared to the same period last year, with the main suppliers being Algeria (25%), Russia (21.1%), the USA (19.1%) and Nigeria (13.9%).
